Just when you thought you found that final stud to help you finish up your fantasy season, Mike James breaks his ankle. Bobby Rainey and Brian Leonard will be taking over the running back duties, and I have already seen blogs telling people to pick them up from the waiver wire. Not so fast my friend. James had one game with 19 fantasy points and other then the Monday night game against the Dolphins, he had 4 and 5 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues. Please do not feel the need to run out and get either of the current Tampa Bay running backs. James was starting to look like a nice surprise, but that doesn’t mean either Rainey or Leonard are going to go out and immediately do anything. I would look to add Andre Brown(only owned in 25% of ESPN leagues), Mark Ingram(owned 65% of leagues), and Shane Vereen(owned in 69% of leagues). The Tampa Bay running game will stall, and Vincent Jackson should benefit the most from this. After playing Atlanta in Week 11, Tampa Bay will face Detroit, Carolina, Buffalo, San Fran, and St.Louis. None of these are cakewalks, and the Buccaneers will fall behind early in some of these. I can’t see a game other than Atlanta where I would even remotely ponder starting a Tampa Bay running back.
Please fantasy football coaches, do not give up a spot on your roster for either of these guys.
