Geno Smith will get the nod in Week 14, and even though some experts are saying that Raiders and their 24th ranked pass defense are a must start, I think this is a matchup that you want to avoid.
In the last three games, the Bills scored 19 fantasy points, the Ravens scored 16, and the Dolphins recently scored 17 points against Geno and the Jets in Week 13. Most people would agree that the Ravens have a stingy defense, but if the Bills and Dolphins can put together strong performances, why can’t the Raiders? The common link among all these teams are their pass defense. The Bills are ranked 15th against the pass, the Ravens are ranked 12th, and the Dolphins are ranked 9th.
It almost seems like any defense is plug and play against the Jets, but they have faced three top 15 pass defenses in the past three weeks. Geno will be conservative to keep his starting job, and a conservative quarterback will not take too many risks. I expect this to be a low scoring game, and I do not think that the Raiders will have enough opportunities on defense to be relevant in your fantasy playoff game.
Do you think the Raiders are worthy of a start in Week 14?
