I’m excited for a few lineups that I constructed on FanDuel this weekend, but I am especially excited for my Thursday Tournament lineup that is shown below. Let me walk you through my thought process and selections for my lineup this week. If you aren’t already playing on FanDuel, follow this link to get started today!
At quarterback, I went with Tom Brady. I always like to look for a quarterback around the $8000-$8500 mark that I believe has a great matchup. My beloved Jets are absolutely dreadful against the pass, and I think that Brady will have a field day against them on Thursday evening. Brady has really come along in the past two weeks, throwing for 653 yards and six touchdowns after a rough start to the year.
As far as running backs go, Justin Forsett has a nice matchup against a porous Falcons’ run defense. I have liked what I have seen from Forsett this season, and he also adds extra value as a pass-catching back as well. I decided to pay up for Jamaal Charles this week, and while the matchup isn’t great against San Diego, I think that Charles is in line for a big week. The former Texas Longhorn has looked great since coming back from injury early this season, and like Forsett, adds another dimension in the passing game. As stated before, the matchup against the Chargers isn’t great, so ownership of Charles might be down as well. When I am searching for running backs for GPPs, I always look for guys that add extra value as pass-catchers.
I didn’t break the bank with my wide receivers, but I still like what I came up with. I always like to have one big-play threat in my GPP lineup, and Justin Hunter fills that roll this week. Although he hasn’t caught more than three passes in a game this season, Hunter has tremendous big play ability and should enjoy success this week against a beat up Redskins’ secondary. Mike Wallace and Larry Fitzgerald both see a lot of targets on a week-to-week basis, and Wallace also carries big play ability with him as well. I love Fitzgerald’s matchup with Oakland, and Wallace’s matchup with Chicago figures to be a high scoring one.
At tight end, I went with the stack and added Brady’s favorite target in Rob Gronkowski. Gronk is really starting to look like the Gronk of years’ past, and what better team to affirm that statement with than my dear New York Jets, who have allowed seven scores to tight ends in the previous four weeks, and are fresh off allowing a multiple-score game to Julius Thomas. I don’t see the Jets slowing down Gronkowski at all, and I think that he and Brady will provide with the potential for huge points.
Any kicker that plays against the Jaguars is in play, so I went with Billy Cundiff simply because I did not like any of the low-end options this week. Minnesota is a mess on offense, so I think that the Bills D/ST is a great play in all formats this week as well.
What do you think of my lineup? What would you change? Let me know on Twitter. Good luck this weekend, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
