Every rookie has growing pains when it comes to being prepared for the NFL, but Houston Texans coach Bill O’Brien specifically called out rookie wide receiver Jaelen Strong for his conditioning.
O’Brien on WR Jaelen Strong “He needs to get in better condition. I’d say that about virtually every guy out there.”

Strong may or may not be on your radar for 2015 Fantasy Football leagues. At 6-foot-2, 217 pounds, Strong is a nice target, but he has been knocked for his route running as well as his rawness. If you have a rookie receiver who isn’t very polished and you add to the fact that he’s either going to be catching passes from Brian Hoyer or Ryan Mallett, I don’t like his chances for Fantasy success in year one.
For fans of DeAndre Hopkins, Strong will at least provide some distraction from teams who plan to heavily shadow and cover him. Cecil Shorts signed to the team in March, and even though these moves aren’t upgrades from Andre Johnson, the Texans at least have three receivers that can make a football impact.
Make sure to follow training camp news to see how the rookies from the 2015 NFL Draft progress.
