Week 4 DraftKings Lineup Advice

Each week, Jon Kelly provides you with advice for your NFL DFS lineup.

For Week 4 DFS lineup advice , these are his top picks.

Before you checkout my picks, you can take a look at my Week 3 review of my cash lineup in the video below.

Week 4 DraftKings Quarterbacks to Target

Cam Newton
$7,800 (DK) $9,300 (FD)
Over/Under: 51 Panthers – 3
Expected Ownership: 10%

Newton is intriguing every single week. Obviously last week it did not work out, but I definitely underestimated the defense for the Minnesota Vikings.

That being said, this is a great bounce back spot for Newton, especially now that many people will be off him. This is a must win game for Carolina, and they have a great matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

So far this season, every game has finished with a total of 55, 63, and 77 points. Carolina has the third-highest team total on the main slate, so you can expect Cam to put up some Fantasy points in Week 4.

Phillip Rivers
$6,900 (DK) $8,500 (FD)
Over/Under: 54 Chargers – 4
Expected Ownership: 13%

Rivers is going to be the auto chalk in Week 4, but I have yet to find a reason not to play him. The San Diego Chargers are projected to score over 28 points, which is the highest team total for Week 4.

The Chargers are extremely banged up, but that helps us know where the production is going to come from.

Rivers, Melvin Gordon, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin should all be considered solid cash game options this week against the porous defense of the New Orleans Saints.

Matthew Stafford
$7,300 (DK) $8,300 (FD)
Over/Under: 48 Lions – 3
Expected Ownership: 8%

Stafford has thrown for at least 340 yards in two of the first three games this season. He also threw three touchdowns in both of those games.

In Week 4, Stafford has a great matchup against the Chicago Bears. The Bears are suffering with injuries on both sides of the ball.

I think this game has good shoot out potential, and Stafford could see less ownership with Rivers being so popular.

The Lions also have the sixth-highest team total on the main slate.

Week 4 DraftKings Running Backs to Target

Le’Veon Bell
$7,500 (DK) $8,300 (FD)
Over/Under: 47 Steelers – 5.5
Expected Ownership: 14%

The Steelers are a home favorite with the fourth-highest team total on the main slate.

Bell is a borderline must play this week. He will have a high ownership percentage, but I do think that there are some people who will question his workload and fade him.

If you’re nervous, let’s rewind to his debut last season against the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded 26 touches for 132 yards and a touchdown.

When he is on the field, he is a work horse, and I would be very surprised to see him get less than 20 touches in this matchup.

Melvin Gordon
$6,300 (DK) $7,600 (FD)
Over/Under: 54 Chargers – 4
Expected Ownership: 22%

You can certainly read the section on Rivers above and see why I like Gordon this week.

You can also check out what the Atlanta backfield did against the Saints if you missed the Monday Night Football game.

Gordon is a home favorite with the highest team total and he is going to see 20 touches. SIGN ME UP!

Jordan Howard
$3,700 (DK) $5,600 (FD)
Over/Under: 48 Lions – 3
Expected Ownership: 16%

With Jeremy Langford expected to miss the next four to six weeks, Howard should fill right in as the lead back in Chicago.

In Langford’s absence, Howard received 13 touches and six targets against the Cowboys. He now has a great matchup against the defense for the Lions, who have struggled greatly to stop the run.

He is simply way too cheap and his price allows us to pay up at WR and QB.

Week 4 DraftKings Wide Receivers to Target

Antonio Brown
$9,700 (DK) $9,400 (FD)
Over/Under: 47 Steelers – 5.5
Expected Ownership: 20%

Brown is one of the safest plays you can play in DFS each week. He is the highest-priced wide receiver on the slate, but for good reason.

Even when the the Steelers’ offense couldn’t get anything going against the Philadelphia Eagles, Brown picked finished with 12 receptions for 140 yards. He is a PPR machine, and now has a home matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

And the Steelers are implied to score a lot of points.

I think the Chiefs’ defense is a bit overrated this year, especially after the smackdown they put on the New York Jets. While Marcus Peters and company are good at forcing turnovers, they will have a hard time locking up elite receivers like Brown.

Alshon Jeffery
$7,500 (DK) $8,200 (FD)
Over/Under: 48 Lions – 3
Expected Ownership: 6%

Jeffery hasn’t had that big game yet this season, so he will definitely be under owned in Week 4.

Even in a great matchup.

Jeffery has just 20 targets through the first three weeks, while he averaged over 10 per game last season. He has had at least 70 yards in each game but no touchdowns yet.

I expect both the targets and the touchdowns to regress back to the norm moving forward, especially in an excellent matchup.

This game could definitely be a shoot out and if Jeffery is going to be overlooked as I expect, he is going to be one of my highest owned wide receivers in Week 4.

Tyrell Williams
$4,400 (DK) $6,400 (FD)
Over/Under: 54 Chargers – 4
Expected Ownership: 10%

Williams has quietly had at least 60 yards in every game so far this season. He is also tied for fourth in the NFL in red-zone targets (6).

He is coming off a 6-69-0 game against the Indianapolis Colts, where he led the team with nine targets.

I would expect that trend to continue moving forward as he is a more reliable possession receiver than Benjamin or Dontrelle Inman. Williams has perhaps the best matchup on paper against a Saints team that has not been able to stop anyone this season.

He is simply too cheap on all sites.

Week 4 DraftKings Tight Ends to Target

Greg Olsen
$6,000 (DK) $7,900 (FD)
Over/Under: 51 Panthers – 3
Expected Ownership: 7%

I like Olsen for many of the same reasons I like Cam in Week 4.

The Panthers have the third-highest team total on the main slate. And whenever the offense is putting up points – Olsen is heavily involved.

He is averaging nine targets per game this season, and he has had at least five catches and 60 yards in all three games.

While Desmund Trufant will try his best to stop Kelvin Benjamin, the Falcons have no one that will be able to matchup with Olsen in the middle of the field.

I love pairing him with Cam this week in both cash and tournaments.

Travis Kelce
$4,800 (DK) $6,500 (FD)
Over/Under: 47 Steelers – 5.5
Expected Ownership: 8%

Kelce is coming off a very solid game last week where he caught six of seven targets for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Many people expect the Sunday night game between the Steelers and the Chiefs to be a shoot out, and I think if the points start piling up on the boards, Kelce will be in a great spot.

With the Chiefs playing from behind, Kelce could easily see double-digit targets and eclipse 100 yards. With all of the cheap tight end options, he should be low owned, which makes him a great tournament play.

Zach Miller
$2,700 (DK) $5,000 (FD)
Over/Under: 48 Lions – 3
Expected Ownership: 18%

Miller is going to be the chalk but it is very hard to keep out of your lineups.

Miller is coming off a two-touchdown performance last week against the Cowboys, and he received nine targets from Brian Hoyer.

While regression is pretty obvious with the touchdowns, I still think Miller will see anywhere from six to nine targets against the Lions.

The Lions’ defense are dead last at defending the tight end position. He is way too cheap on both sites, making him an obvious value.

My Core Week 4 DraftKings Lineup

Cam/Stafford
Bell/Gordon/Howard/Elliott
AB/Tyrell Williams/Alshon
Zach Miller/Olsen/Reed/Kelce

My Top Stacks:

Cam + Olsen
Ben Roethlisberger + Antonio Brown and/or Lev Bell
Stafford + Jones/Tate
Stafford + Jones/Tate + Jeffery
Hoyer + Jeffery/Miller

DraftKings Sample Lineups for Week 4

Keep in mind, I primarily play just one optimal cash game lineup that I put into double ups, 50/50s and H2H contests. If any changes occur, I will do my best to update this immediately.

2016-2017 cash game record: 3-0

WR Tyrell Williams $4,400
TE Zach Miller $2,700
FLEX Le’Veon Bell $7,500
