Second-year quarterback A.J. McCarron feels he is ready to earn a bigger role with the Cincinnati Bengals. Does that mean trouble for starter Andy Dalton?

Baring an injury, the answer of course is no. While he isn’t know for being a Fantasy stud, Dalton has been a serviceable NFL quarterback. He does seem to follow an impressive performance with one that will make you scratch your head but Dalton at least provides a much more stable option than all of the quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns last season.
I won’t knock McCarron for saying he wants to push Dalton, since you want your backup quarterbacks to be fierce competitors. Having said that, he will really need to prove himself this summer, especially since the Bengals added Terrelle Pryor to the roster.
You probably aren’t planning on drafting Dalton as your starting quarterback, so this is just offseason fodder that will quickly disappear.
