Week 1 NFL DFS – Underpriced Players on FanDuel

Taking a look at the Week 1 pricing at FanDuel, there are a few key players that stick out to me. Finding players that are underpriced is very important in order to afford the more expensive players you need in your lineup to win the big bucks. Here is an underpriced player at each position I will be heavily targeting on FanDuel.

Matthew Stafford $7,400

Stafford is priced at just the 17th -most expensive quarterback on FanDuel this week, including the Thursday and Monday night games. In the past five NFL seasons, Stafford has finished outside of the top 10 in Fantasy points among QBs just once (14th in 2014).

We are only talking about Week 1 here, but we can use that as a baseline when projecting Stafford’s performance this week. Additionally, Stafford and the Detroit Lions have a very favorable matchup, if not the best matchup of the entire slate. Mark my words: This game will be a shootout.

The Indianapolis Colts are literally picking up cornerbacks off the street because they are extremely thin at the position. With Vontae Davis expected to miss the first few weeks of the season, the secondary is going to have a very difficult time stopping Stafford. You can expect Golden Tate and Marvin Jones to be very busy on Sunday afternoon. I could easily see him finishing as a top 5 fantasy QB this week.

Spencer Ware $5,400

With Jamaal Charles likely our or extremely limited in Week 1, Ware will get the bulk of the touches for the Kansas City backfield. You can expect him to be extremely high owned in all formats, but don’t let that discourage you. Ware’s price provides you with a ton of salary relief allowing you to afford top-tier wide receivers.

Ware’s matchup against the San Diego Chargers is as good as it gets. The Chargers allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs last season. There is little reason to believe that changes much for this year. Eat the chalk on Ware, and just be sure to differentiate yourself elsewhere.

T.Y. Hilton $6,800

Hilton is priced outside of the top 25 wide receivers. This is incredible, considering he is priced as the 14th-most expensive receiver on DraftKings. I suggest you get exposure to Hilton heavily on FanDuel.

Hilton’s matchup against the Lions is expected to be a high-scoring game with little to no defense. I already talked about the Lions’ passing attack, and you better believe Andrew Luck and the Colts will be airing it out as well to keep up. Hilton and Donte Moncrief are both great bets to provide a solid return on your investments.

Coby Fleener $5,400

Fleener is priced as the 15th-most expensive tight end on FanDuel and the 5th-most expensive on DraftKings. Once we get further into the season, the pricing across the different sites should get closer.

But until then we need to exploit it.

Fleener has a very favorable matchup against the Oakland Raiders, who notoriously struggle to defend tight ends. Fleener also has Drew Brees slinging him the rock in a game at home in the dome. Fleener is severely underpriced on FanDuel, and he needs to be in your starting lineup.
