Will RG3 Start in Week 14?

RG3 might be the starter in Week 14, which really shouldn’t matter if you made the 2016 Fantasy Football playoffs.

Outside of Isaiah Crowell and Terrelle Pryor, you probably aren’t considering starting any running back or receiver on the Cleveland Browns. But if you do have Pryor, what can you expect with RG3 as the starter?

The only game we have to use as a reference point is from Week 1, where the 26-year old quarterback completed 12 of 26 passes for 190 yards and an interception.

He also had five carries for 37 yards.

The good news for Pryor owners is he was RG3’s favorite receiver in terms of targets. Pryor hauled in three passes off of seven targets for 68 yards. However, Corey Coleman finished with the most yards (69) on five targets.

Duke Johnson posted a 3-28-0 stat line as a receiver, and tight end Gary Barnidge was unable to haul in his two targets.

The other information we can review is the strength of RG3’s opponent from Week 1.

From Weeks 1-12, the Philadelphia Eagles have allowed the ninth-fewest Fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. So even though he didn’t have a great game, we know Griffin did have a tough opponent.

Moving forward, the Browns have the 19th-toughest schedule for quarterbacks from Weeks 14-16. It isn’t terrible, but it’s not great for a quarterback who has only played in one game this season.

Because the Browns haven’t won a game this season, things can’t get any worse for Pryor. Even with a carousel of ineffective quarterbacks, he has still posted a 62-855-4 stat line as a receiver. He’s also scored a rushing touchdown.

If you’ve been starting him each week, there’s no reason to pull the plug now.
