After watching the Colts preseason game against the Giants, T.Y. Hilton looked like he was off to a great start and he looked like he would be a great pick up this year in fantasy football. I noticed that Darrius Heyward-Bey was receiving some love and making some nice plays as well. This didn’t really concern me regarding T.Y.’s value, but it worried me enough to stay in the back of mind since I am a Hilton owner in two of my leagues.
I was listening to Sirius XM Fantasy today, and one of the shows talked about how T.Y. Hilton’s value could be closely related to Amad Bradshaw’s playing time and health. If Bradshaw stays healthy, they will run more two wide receiver plays, which will split up time between Hilton and Heyward-Bey. If Bradshaw is unhealthy or blocking poorly, the Colts will focus more on throwing and have more three wide receiver sets which will allow T.Y. more opportunities.
T.Y. is a solid player and will most likely go on to have a great career once Reggie Wayne is gone, but if you are planning to use him as your second wide receiver, do not expect too much from him for the start of your season.
