After round five my team is looking pretty strong
QB-Brady
RB-Ray Rice
RB- Steven Ridley
WR-Vincent Jackson
Flex-MJD
I am pretty good on the running back end, and I don’t have to worry about using a 6th round pick on getting a quarterback which frees my up on picking up some wide receivers. I had the 70th pick.
| Tony Gonzalez, Atl TE
| Eric Decker, Den WR | |
| 49ers D/ST D/ST | |
| Steve Smith, Car WR | |
| Owen Daniels, Hou TE | |
| Matt Ryan, Atl QB | |
| Robert Griffin III, Wsh QB
| Jason Witten, Dal TE | |
| James Jones, GB WR | |
| Marques Colston, NO WR
| Matthew Stafford, Det QB
| Andrew Luck, Ind QB |
I would have liked to have Steve Smith, but I think the Saints offense is going to go crazy and Colston should have a good year.
I had the third pick in the seventh round, so I wanted to focus on getting one more running back incase MJD didn’t work out, I had a bye week spot to fill, somebody got injured, etc. Rashard Mendenhall was available, and he is a starter, so I decided to take him. It was a little early in the seventh round and in my mock drafts I was seeing him go in the 8th and 9th, but I really thought someone else would grab him that round, so I made an offensive play for him.
| Greg Olsen, Car TE | |
| Antonio Brown, Pit WR
| Rashard Mendenhall, Ari RB
| Luke Kuechly, Car LB | |
| Justin Tucker, Bal K | |
| Antonio Gates, SD TE | |
| Giovani Bernard, Cin RB
| J.J. Watt, Hou DE | |
| Seahawks D/ST D/ST | |
| DeSean Jackson, Phi WR
| Brandon Myers, NYG TE
| Jordy Nelson, GB WR |
For round 8-10, I wanted to get one more running back so I would have a total of five, and two more wide receivers to have a total of four wide receivers.
In round eight Mike Wallace was still available. I don’t think Wallace is going to have a huge year or anything, but I love him in the 8th round. He had his first touchdown in the preseason last game, and all the Dolphin training camp reports have said that he is connecting better with Tannehill.
| Pierre Garcon, Wsh WR
| T.Y. Hilton, Ind WR | |
| Haloti Ngata, Bal DT | |
| James Laurinaitis, StL LB
| Bengals D/ST D/ST | |
| Tavon Austin, StL WR | |
| Fred Jackson, Buf RB | |
| Cecil Shorts, Jac WR | |
| Texans D/ST D/ST | |
| Mike Wallace, Mia WR | |
| Daryl Richardson, StL RB
| Steve Johnson, Buf WR |
Ok so the 9th round is coming around and I have the third pick. For the most part running backs have been wiped off the board other than handcuffs. If I could get him in the later rounds I really wanted Andre Brown. David Wilson looks good, but he is still a raw talent and Brown will remain pretty active whether Wilson is the starter or not.
| Bears D/ST D/ST | |
| Miles Austin, Dal WR | |
| Andre Brown, NYG RB | |
| Bernard Pierce, Bal RB
| Shane Vereen, NE RB | |
| Mike Williams, TB WR
| Emmanuel Sanders, Pit WR
| Vick Ballard, Ind RB
| Blair Walsh, Min K | |
| Jermichael Finley, GB TE
| Lance Moore, NO WR | |
| Mark Ingram, NO RB |
For the tenth round I wanted to get my other wide receiver, and Josh Gordon was on my watch list at the start of the draft. He had a pretty decent year last year, and he has been targeted often in the preseason. He has a two game suspension, but he isn’t one of my starters anyway so it doesn’t really effect me.
| Mikel Leshoure, Det RB
| Jacquizz Rodgers, Atl RB
| Bryce Brown, Phi RB | |
| Denarius Moore, Oak WR
| Patrick Willis*, SF LB
| Ronnie Hillman, Den RB
| Malcom Floyd, SD WR | |
| NaVorro Bowman, SF LB
| Geno Atkins, Cin DT | |
| Josh Gordon, Cle WR | |
| Johnathan Franklin, GB RB
| Sean Lee, Dal LB |
Tomorrow I will cover the last couple rounds of the draft and show you what my team ended up looking like.
