Jimmy Graham seems to be like a game time decision, and if you own Jimmy Graham that means you better have a backup plan. Here are some tight ends you can use in a pinch.
1. Heath Miller- Owned in 21.3% of ESPN leagues, while an unspectacular option, Miller will at least put some points on the board. He has scored 7, 8, and 5 points in his last three contests in ESPN standard scoring leagues, and he should have a decent day against Oakland.
2. Brent Celek- If Michael Vick starts, start Celek. I have noted in some of my other articles how Riley Cooper fades out when Vick is the quarterback, and Celek seems to fade when Foles starts. The Eagles are not letting much information out on who is starting, but the general consensus seems like it is going to be Vick. If you have to check on Jimmy Graham, you might as well keep an eye on who will be Celek’s QB.
3. Tyler Eifert- He has put up a goose egg and had a 1 point game, but his touchdown in last weeks game is encouraging. The Jets have a tough defense, but with A.J. Green receiving the majority of attention, Eifert could have a nice day.
4. Benjamin Watson- The backup to Graham, Watson had three receptions for 61 yards in week 6 against the Patriots.
The most important thing is follow the status of Graham before his 1pm game, but being prepared if he can not play could be the difference between a win and a loss for your week 8 team.
